I took some silly pics tonight of the girls... T was wearing Lil M's shoes and they were both posing for pics... and just generally being goofy.
Could they be any cuter?!!!

Meow and Monkey were, of course, involved in the craziness. :D We don't have cabin fever, do we?!!

Updates

Lil M is 3 years and 4+ months old now. She is 28 lbs. I need to get her height, but I'm sure she's grown taller in the past 4 months, and then she was 35.5" tall.

Yesterday, she was determined (in her 3 YO way) to make a snowman when we got home. lol. She also wanted to make snowballs. Of course, neither actually looked like what they were supposed to, but she liked piling the snow and playing in it. :)

She is still doing really fantastic with her letters and numbers. She can recognize (out of order) letters in her games, on signs, etc. And, she's gotten more confident with it.

Over Christmas, she loved the Christmas lights...and would say she couldn't see the Christmas lights when we were having dinner (code for Torrie move out of my way)... and would get excited when the tree came on every single day!

She has taken to coming in my room in the mornings, when she hasn't had an accident, and spending a little time with me. Which, I think, it awesome. It's always sweet when your toddler seeks you out. :) She's dry approx 3-4 nights a week right now. Still not wearing pull-ups at all. She gave those up. lol. I know some of this is a repeat... but I wanted to make sure I had it written down.

Lil M likes to play with the cart that came with her kitchen set, and put all kinds of stuff in it. She also plays with her baby doll she got, that has a carrier with straps (or her "backpack")... she's taken to saying the baby is crying and then picks it up and gives it love. She does this with her animals, too.

Meow and Monkey are still the two favorites. Oh, and she talks up a storm most days!! She cracks me up. And then others, she won't hardly say a word. But most of the time... talk, talk, talk!!

One day we went to a restroom at a store, and I said it looked "disgusting"... so, she uses that term a lot now! That's Dis-Gustin !! lol.

Toddler Bed

Lil M has been sleeping in her crib up until tonight... tonight, she's in her new (to her) toddler bed, thanks to my friend at work! Her son, who is 5, just graduated to a big bed... and so she gave me his toddler bed! :)


My baby is growing up! Let's see how she does tonight. :) Her very first-ever night in her big-girl bed!! I guess I should get her something cute to make her bed look special, huh? She seemed pretty excited, so I hope this goes over well!

I think we're going to see the new movie The Blind Side tomorrow. This is still National Adoption Month... and tomorrow, the 21st, is National Adoption Day!! The Blind Side is the movie with Sandra Bullock that is about a successful older child adoption. Please go see it!! :)

Lil M and her swing

Lil M and her BFF MK2... they were playing with "her" phone this morning...
Ok, Lil M cracks me up. I have left her baby swing sitting in the family room for months... and she's getting kind of big to swing in it.... I mean, technically, she still weighs under the max weight for the swing... but she is 3 now!! I just hadn't put it in the shed... Here's the proof. ;-)



Oh, and the mark on her face was from a fall on the sidewalk at daycare. :( But, of course, she's fine!

Weekend Update

Lil M had fun last night going trick or treating with Aiyee Mimi and Geempa (grandpa). I let her wear her costume all day yesterday and she really seemed to enjoy that, too.

Oct 31 LID anniversary and Halloween

Today, 4 years ago was my log-in date to China. My LID. It was a very special day then, and it is just as special now!! For all those who are still waiting... please know I send up prayers for you and your families!!!

Halloween Week

Lil M's Halloween party at school (daycare) was today. They are allowed to wear orange or something 'halloween', but not a costume. So, I thought I'd give the Bengals jersey one more go!!! AND IT FIT! ;-) Of course, it's a snad short... but I did put a black turtle neck under it to keep her a bit warmer anyway. It still looked darn cute!! :)

Meds

I've had some not-so-pleasant side-effects from the medicine that the Dr. prescribed, so I called them today to see if I should continue or change to a new med. Let's see what they say.

The pics are of Lil M on mine and Sis' birthday at the restaurant. :) There's an outdoor patio she loves and Sis took a few pics of her! Mindy and Scott both took her out there and she didn't want to come back in! I convinced her to come back in for dessert though. LOL

Memorial Day and the Big Airplane

This weekend Lil M got to go on a big airplane ride for the first time since we got home from China (almost 2 years ago)!! We went to see Scott's family for his nephew Preston's graduation from high school. It was a good long weekend. We also celebrated mine and Sis' birthdays on Thursday and ours and Dad's birthdays last night.

Monday, Monday

Yes, it's another Monday. The weekend was sort of non-eventful... the one thing that Lil M has done recently while sitting on the couch together is to look at me and say "I ready nigh, nigh, Mommy" and then get in my lap and try to fall asleep.

Now, it isn't new that she has fallen asleep on me. For the first 1.5 years together I held her almost every single evening for at least 10-15 minutes before bed. Sometimes she would fall asleep, other times she wouldn't. She would just lay there. Mama Mia time for sure. :)

What's new about this is that she has taken it upon herself to let me know she's ready to go to bed and then comes over and lets me hold her. :) Some days she lets me know she's ready to go to sleep, but doesn't want me to hold her. So, this is kind of cool. I must admit, that I like the Mama Mia time.

Let's see, what all can Lil M do now? She can speak in full sentences... for example, when we went to the store last weekend to get flowers, she pointed her little finger at me and said "You stay right there, Mommy. I be right back!" hahahaha This was after I had just asked her to stand with our flowers for about 2 seconds so I could get some rose bushes off an end-cap next to the checkout line! hahaha.

She's probably 90% potty trained. She still has some accidents, but they are getting fewer and farther between. Nighttime wet is still there.

She can sing the ABC's, count to 10 and I even heard her sing Ba Ba Black Sheep the other day... (not sure if she got all the words, but it sounded pretty close - I was in the other room). She likes to color and knows several colors... black, blue, red, green, orange, yellow, purple. She often tells me what I'm wearing... what color it is and if it has a pattern (ie., stripes), pockets... etc. And then compares it to what she is wearing. "I no have stripes, Mommy", "I have pockets, Mommy has pockets, too!!" I need to get some of this on video, 'cause it is pretty cute.

So, since it is a Monday, I need to find some motivation for this week. What is nice is that we're going out of town this weekend to meet S' family in Atlanta!! I think that's going to be fun. We're also having dinner with friends Thursday for Sis' and my birthday... and meeting Dad on Sunday for his birthday and ours... Sheesh, that's a lot!! :) Motivated or not, the week is here! I hope it is a pretty one.

Zoo and Girls-Night-In Saturday

Whew, what a weekend!! We went to the Zoo yesterday with MK and MK2. That was awesome. The weather was absolutely, utterly perfect! Then we have some friends over... (didn't watch Tyra, Tom... we missed you!! LOL) And had big fun. I was remiss in not getting a pic of our new friends C & K! Little K was just adorable. :)

As if all of that wasn't enough... today, we went to the Circus! What fun that was. :) MK, MK2, Sis, Abbi, Mia, Scott and I went today. The girls rode the camel. :) And, Lil M and I went down the blow-up slide. It was a ton of fun! ... Thank you Scott for treating us all to such an awesome day!
