Skippy and bottles

So, I stopped taking a bottle to daycare for Lil M on April 15 (yes, tax day)... she's been bottle free ever since! WOOT!! :)

Skippy had a big day yesterday. We had another dog over, and Skippy acted like everything was "normal" and he didn't cower or run for his bed! He ate at the bowls with the other two dogs, and sat in the kitchen with all of us like he was a confident boy!!! WOOHOO! I was *so proud*!

Thoughts today

So, writing it down yesterday, about adopting or having a second child has got me thinking. Are there any programs for me to look into these days?! I'm quite saddened over the fact that I can't go back to China. So, I'm sort of starting to look at Vietnam and Taiwan. However, there are a lot of places that won't take singles, even in those countries where they allow singles to adopt. I guess, it is a numbers thing, but I'm not sure. In any case, it sucks.

It's not that I want to bring a brother or sister home for Mia right now. But I'd like to have that option and maybe start the process this year... assuming it will take 2+ years to complete the process again. Oh, and did I mention I'd want a child under the age of 1 year old again? Sort of feels impossible right now.

But if God wants it to happen, it will. I am sure of that.

Oh, and I called one local agency and they do allows singles to foster/adopt. But they want you to take a child that is 8+ years old. I'd consider it, but am just not sure right now.

Weekend fun

Lil M, the pups and I went to see Mindy this weekend. We had a great time. Sis and I sat up and talked until 4:30am on Friday night! Then, we ran the errands we've been wanting to run for awhile now. I took a little video of Lil M Saturday night, and will post it if I can. It's a little longer than some of the others. She's TOO CUTE, of course!! :)

I just have so much fun with Mia. We met a man and his two daughters, from China, on Friday at a pizza place in Germantown! It is a tiny little town... and it's just crazy to see another family like mine! :) Very cool.

Some days I mourn the fact that I am not allowed to adopt from China again. And, every day, I'm so HAPPY that I have the daughter I have!!!

Ok, so speaking of which... I am considering adopting again, at some point. The process takes so long, practically wherever you adopt, that I will probably make a decision this year. I'm nervous to have a 2nd, but am thinking it would be good for Lil M to have a sister or brother at some point.

Bottle

Yesterday was a big first for Lil M... it was her first day ever without a bottle!!! Yes, she had milk... but she didn't drink it from a bottle! WOOHOO!!

... of course, makes Mama a little sad, her baby's growing up!! :)
