WFMW - cold coffee

I used to make fun of my Dad who left the coffee pot sit out all day and then poured himself a cup at 2pm and warmed it up. Eww. It grossed me out for some reason... yet, these days I always make a big pot of coffee and when it is done it let it cool down and put it in the fridge. That's the same thing, pretty much, right? Yet, it doesn't gross me out!!! HAHA. Perhaps it has something to do with putting it in the fridge?

Anyway, in the summertime, this makes it super easy for me to pour myself about 8oz of coffee in a glass, add milk and sweetner...and voila! Iced coffee! Oh, well, I guess I have to add ice, which I don't always do...

I also do this in the winter-time and then on mornings when I don't feel like making a new pot of coffee, I just warm some up. Am I turning into my dad? ;-) Go check out other Works For Me Wednesday ideas here!!

Peace.

  1. That's so funny...my mom does the same thing...then i started doing it too, but in recent years, maybe after baby #3...I started drinking enough coffee early in the day that there wasn't any left by afternoon, and i'd never get to sleep if there was...
homemade iced coffee is so underrated, isn't it? great idea for summer-thanks!

oh, and i make my coffee half and half at the most. i can't have too much caffeine... shouldn't have any, probably, as i have a tendency to get migraines. but i LOVE coffee. so, there ya have it.

...ps. i'm taking a mental health day from work, and it is really awesome and relaxing. so glad i did it!

  3. I don't drink coffee, but I would think putting it in the fridge makes all the difference.

  4. Melissa,
The dryer balls really do work! I didn't notice much noise in the dryer. I think you need to have at least 6 to make the drying time a lot less. Thanks for the comment at Heaven In The Home!

  6. Like you, I make a big pot of coffee in the morning, then store it in the refrigerator. I imagine that coffee connoisseurs would cringe at the very thought of that, but it works for me, too. If I'm too tired to reheat coffee in the morning, it's going to be a rough day. :)

  7. Good idea! I like iced coffee, but cannot bear reheated coffee. So this would work for me too!
